Change Will Come
An acknowledgment of the feeling in the zeitgeist that we are edging on the dawn of a new era, along with the death of the current one, which will bring with it the collapse of all of the existing institutes and power structures.
Felt as a shock to the system,
Smashed up houses crafted of glass,
Debts come due and reigns come to pass,
All empires never quite last,
Little cracks start to form,
Those with foresight then warn,
Change will come,
Once out from under the thumb,
Fires rise with disenchanted eyes,
The virtuous can't but despise,
Gamed by hidden hands in disguise,
The crowd praises the man who lies,
Social fabric gets torn,
Seeds of ruin get spawned,
Change will come,
With nought to pacify one,
Change will come,
Seeing all we can become,
Slow revealed from mystery schools,
Whilst together we act as fools,
Too many take poisoned apples,
Purification ain't for all,
Change will come,
Once out from under the thumb,
Change will come,
With nought to pacify one,
Cogs turn again,
Forth step brave men,
Now's our will's turn,
Truths are re-learned,
Eyes will open,
We've a new dawn,
Change will come,
Change will come,
Seeing all we can become,
Change will come,
After with all these games we're done,
