Dawn
Day was destroyed but now reborn,
Cold will gradually become warm,
Dew and wind act to cool skin,
Eyes wake as skies lighten,
Set to a chorus of birdsong,
Day appears on the horizon,
Calm's frail till the clamour's begun,
The child of dawn waits to be born,
Sky's filled with pastel blues and reds,
Darkness is again defeated,
A shy sun's might barely withheld,
An outcome which clockwork foretold,
Morning light bleeds past the eyelid,
Tentative steps are made while tired,
Thoughts refill a haze filled mind,
The dreamland to be left behind.
